Confidential Client: Modernizing a Fragmented Platform

Worldwide

A logistics technology provider ran five separate regional platforms, each with its own logic for rates and shipments. DevelopX consolidated them into one shared system integrated with more than 20 carriers.

80% drop in customer-facing response times

The Challenge

A logistics technology provider serving small and mid-sized businesses across the UK, Australia, and Europe ran a separate platform for every region.

Each version carried its own logic for calculating rates and creating shipments, so adding a single new carrier meant repeating the same work five times over. Global demand for multi-carrier shipping tools grows close to 9% a year, and a fragmented setup made it harder to keep pace. Customers requesting a shipping quote waited over 30 seconds for a response. This hurt the fast, simple experience the business was built on.

Our Solution

1

Regional Consolidation

Five separate country platforms were merged into a single .NET 6 codebase, with shared logic for rates, shipments, and tracking.

2

Carrier Integration

Courier APIs, including DHL, UPS, and FedEx, were unified under one rate-calculation layer, replacing older SOAP connections with REST.

3

Incremental Delivery

Each module went live on its own, tested against real shipment scenarios before cutover, so the business kept shipping throughout the rebuild.

4

E-commerce Connections

New integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, and Wix let merchants book and track shipments directly from their own storefronts.
